Overthinking can negatively impact your quality of life and mental health, leading to stress, anxiety, and depression. In order to break the cycle and stop overthinking completely, you need to shift your mindset from a negative one towards positivity and peace of mind. These six simple steps will help you do just that!

Define your core values
I think it’s important to start defining your core values when it comes to handling stress. I find that it helps me to relax, chill out, think more clearly and quit overthinking.
Meditate every day
Meditating daily will give you a chance to calm your mind, relieve you of stress, think clearly and stay composed. If meditating every day is too much for you, try meditating when things get tough—before important meetings or deadlines.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help
Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. In fact, asking for help is often something we need to do in order to love ourselves or relax. When you start feeling overwhelmed by something at work or home, try turning your thoughts inward.
Keep your thoughts positive
Positive thinking is a great way to stop overthinking and break a bad habit. If you find yourself ruminating on negative thoughts, simply take a deep breath, relax, and remind yourself that everything will be OK.
Do not compare yourself with others
The best way to stop overthinking is to not compare yourself with others. Everyone has their own path; they are on their own journey.
Maintain a gratitude journal
To break out of a destructive thought pattern, maintain a daily gratitude journal. In fact, studies show that gratitude can help decrease stress levels (no pain, no tension!) and encourage positive thinking. Journal at least one thing you are grateful for each day.
Conclusion
When you overthink something, it can give you mental stress that you don’t need. You just need a moment or two of relief and then everything will be cool again. No stress! If you want peace of mind, stop overthinking.
