POWERHOUSE Fitness has completed the purchase of a pavilion building at the Rutherglen Links Business Park.
The 6,145 square foot facility was constructed in 2020 and forms part of the Clyde Gateway regeneration project.
Three Rutherglen Links will become the fitness wholesaler’s new headquarters, with their 35 employee-strong team set to move into the building in October.
The firm was founded in Glasgow in 1980 and has grown to launch nine stores across the UK, in addition to a further 57 across eight countries as part of the Sport-Tiedje group.
The pandemic prompted a sharp uptake of fitness equipment purchases in the UK, with an increase of 53.5% according to a report by data analytics firm, Global Data.
Clyde Gateway’s chief executive, Ian Manson, said,“Rutherglen Links Business Park continues to be an attractive option for businesses to locate and expand. The arrival of Powerhouse Fitness into our latest commercial space is further proof that the office market in Clyde Gateway is weathering the pandemic and augurs well for our pipeline of advance office and industrial developments.
“We look forward to welcoming Powerhouse Fitness to Clyde Gateway and wish them every success as they embark on such an exciting period for the business.”
Steve Collins, MD of Powerhouse Fitness, added, “Our business has been operating for more than 40 years and our move to Rutherglen Links is a significant milestone in our growth. We are investing heavily in our infrastructure, and are delighted to keep our home in Glasgow following our head office relocation. Following our move, we are already recruiting locally for skilled positions in our team and we look forward to becoming part of the Clyde Gateway community.
“The Park will give us excellent services and utility provisions, as part of a site that has excellent green and sustainability credentials.”
