Kate Middleton’s diet: What the Duchess eats in a day and exercise plan

It has been widely reported that Kate Middleton follows a Dukan Diet which involves an almost exclusive omission of carbohydrates in favour of lean proteins, vegetables and healthy fats and oils, as well as lots of water. But what does she eat on a day-to-day basis and what form of exercise does she do to maintain her slim figure?

According to a royal source, Kate, who is 5ft 9in tall, weighs in around eight and a half stone and is a size six.

After three children and a decade of marriage to William, Kate appears a trimmer version of when she first stepped into the Royal Family.

How does she maintain her figure? By following a Dukan Diet and strict exercise regime.

According to the Mail Online, the Duchess blends a combination of kale, spirulina (which is a type of algae), matcha (green tea leaves), spinach, romaine, coriander leaves and blueberries together for a healthy morning drink.

When a sweet craving strikes, Kate might whizz berries and almond milk into the other ingredients.

This breakfast option is rich in antioxidants and a variety of other vitamins which can help reduce the risk of many diseases.

Kate is also thought to enjoy a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.

Kate is rumoured to enjoy raw and cold foods like gazpacho, watermelon salads, tabbouleh and ceviche.

Should she need a snack, she opts for goji berries apparently.

All these foods are great for radiating skin.

While the Duchess is not vegetarian, reports have revealed she mainly likes to eat meat-free dishes for lunch.

During her and William’s royal tour of India, Chef Raghu Deora, who was charged with creating dishes for the royal couple during their stay at the Taj Mahal Place, revealed he served up a lunch of vegetable kebabs and lentil curry for the pair.

“It is all vegetarian because I was told that was what they preferred,” Hello magazine published.

It has also been said the couple enjoy sushi, after they visited Japan House London.

Talking to Japanese chef Akira, William said: “Very impressive. Thank you very much. My wife and I love sushi. We might have to come down here for lunch when no one else is in.”

The Duchess of Cambridge is a keen runner. In fact, while studying at St. Andrews university, she took part in a daily morning running club.

Throughout her three pregnancies, Kate has always made fitness a priority.

She has been known to incorporate a generous amount of cardio and weights into her routine and is said to workout daily – all without a personal trainer, according to Daily Mail.

Despite being a busy mother and carrying out royal duties, the insider said she doesn’t let her schedule get in the way of working out.

Kate finds the time to run as often as possible when in Norfolk, sometimes with Charlotte in her buggy and their dog Lupo at her side,” they said.

While her workouts differ depending on her schedule and amount of free time, her favourite technique is reportedly planking.

The three different types of plants that Kate employs are the front flat, side plant and sky dive plank – all of which Kate holds for 45 seconds or longer and repeats at least 10 times.

It has also been said that Kate enjoys rowing and cycling and focuses on her abs with the help of a Swiss gym ball.

The royal is also extremely competitive when it comes to sports and enjoys challenging her family members to games.

Another source told the same publication: “The tennis court at Anmer has been the scene of many hard-fought matches, singles and doubles.

“She and Pippa enjoy strenuous make-up-free aqua aerobic sessions and larky water polo with William and Harry.”
