Ji’Ayir Brown leads potential 2023 NFL Draft prospects on Penn State roster

Penn State showcased its ability to develop NFL-level talent in a big way when eight former Nittany Lions were selected during the 2022 NFL Draft over the weekend. Wide receiver Jahan Dotson led the way as a first-rounder, while defensive end Arnold Ebiketie and safety Jaquan Brisker heard their names called on Day 2.

Across Day 3, a number of other contributors to the 2021 Nittany Lions heard their names called as well, and they’ll get the chance to take their games to the next level.

It’s not too early to look ahead to the 2023 NFL Draft, though. Penn State once again has an interesting selection of potential pro prospects on its roster this fall, and while draft projections are an inexact science — mock drafts from his point last year look pretty silly — the Nittany Lions on the roster with skills that can translate to the next level are easy to spot.

Below, we highlighted eight players who could be drafted next season, along with a couple other prospects.

Someone will probably surprise us. At this point last year, punter Jordan Stout didn’t seem like a fourth-round pick, Ebiketie was a mystery and offensive tackle Rasheed Walker seemed like a late Day 2 pick at worst. Much can happen in the next year, but the Nittany Lions should have a group of talented players that will have NFL talent evaluators keeping an eye on State College this fall.
