The 28-year-old powerhouse, who has a background in gymnastics and made the switch to CrossFit in 2015, makes sure to have one day of active rest a week, which typically consists of sauna and ice baths. Her gym buddy, Smith, is usually around for these recovery sessions as well, as seen from a recent Instagram post in which she admitted she wasn’t a huge fan of the “ice bath part.”
Speegle, who also trains with her longtime boyfriend, fitness instructor, and CrossFitter Alex Gorgon (see selfie above), also allows herself one day of complete rest each week. This system clearly works for the seasoned athlete, who ranked 14th in the 2022 CrossFit Open.
As far as her diet goes, Speegle is into Paleo and tries to eat healthy as much as possible. Despite enjoying an occasional cheat day, her meals usually consist of lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, with additional supplements, such as BCAAs, creatine, and whey protein.
