Corrie star reveals ripped new look after incredible eight week post-lockdown body transformation

Coronation Street actor Haydn Holden has gone from causing ripples on the famous cobbles to becoming ripped in the gym.

Haydn decided to tone up after successive lockdowns and enlisted the help of Ultimate Performance in Manchester.

The soap star, who has also starred in Partners in Crime: The Moors Murderers, Doctors and Stella, underwent an eight week transformation.

He lost fat, built muscle but kept his weight almost the same.

Haydn decided to tone up after successive lockdowns

Haydn, who arrived in Weatherfield at the start of the year as Rhydian Chivers, a dodgy salesman at the dubious Double Glammy make-up company, dropped from 67kg to 64kg but dramatically reduced his body fat to a super lean nine per-cent and increased his lean body mass by 2kg.

Previously he had always trained on his own but never saw any fat loss results.

Haydn had always wanted abs, but no amount of crunches and ab machines at home ever got him the six-pack he desired.

In lockdown he trained with resistance bands but got bored and wanted to get back into a gym as soon as they reopened.

Haydn before his transformation

He achieved this transformation with just 24 training sessions in the gym with his trainer.

Diet was also key with Haydn weighing his proteins, carb and fat sources before cooking, and now using scales is second nature.

But the biggest driver of his fat loss was walking 10,000-plus steps a day which has been a ‘game-changer’ for him.

Sharing a snap of his new look on Instagram he said joining the gym was “one of the best things I’ve ever done” – and the compliments came pouring in.

His Coronation Street character blindsided Sean Tully, played by Antony Cotton, with his charm as he roped the Underworld machinist and his friends and neighbours into the beauty products business.

In 2013 he played child killer Ian Brady in Partners In Crime: The Moors Murderers.

The same year Haydn played Gethin in the film Dream On and he played Ross Fraser in the 2011 film Nudes in Tartan.

Rhydian arrived in the soap in January and Sean began selling make up and beauty products with help from his neighbour Gemma Winter.

There were tense scenes after he got mum of quadruplets Gemma involved in the worrying scheme and he turned ruthless to keep her onboard.
