Adele Responds To Negative Comments About Her Weight Loss Journey

In a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, Adele Laurie Blue Adkins reacted to negative comments pertaining to her weight loss.

On November 14, as part of a two-hour special, Adele and Oprah engaged in a conversation that revealed certain aspects that Adele had been wanting to put out in the open.

New Album On The Way

Adele has been all over, promoting her sixth studio release ’30’. One of the songs from the album titled ‘Easy On Me’  has stirred excitement  over social media and has received  immense love from her fans. The album will hit music platforms on November 29, 2021.

When Oprah asked Adele about her weight loss journey, the ‘Easy On Me’ singer said that she initially started exercising and reducing her weight since it helped her manage her anxiety.

However, she mentioned that when she started out, she solely focused on adhering to a workout routine, which was not focused on losing weight. It was more routine binding than having to do anything with ‘weight loss.’

‘Working Out Calms Me Down’

Adele mentioned that her love for working out has been rather deep-seated because of its origin.

In the candid interview, Adele mentioned how she had ‘terrifying panic attacks’ post-separation and how working out seemed to calm her body and mind. “There were times I hit so low that I felt I couldn’t control my body, I felt helpless.”

While talking about working out and regular exercise, Adele said ,“When I realized exercise and working out really helped me with my anxiety, I started going to the gym every day.”

As much appreciated as Adele’s weight losing transforming journey has been, there are people online that find ways to criticize anything and bring people down. When Oprah asked Adele about all the negative comments she sees swimming around on social media handles, Adele roughly said that she couldn’t care less.

“I don’t care. Honestly, I am not shocked or even the slightest bit of fazed because my body has been objectified my entire career.”

Adele Is Sorting Out Things

Adele also said how she can never really fit in all the conventions set by the people who know little to nothing about the industry. The 33-year-old singer-songwriter said, “I’m either too big or too small; I’m either hot or I’m not. It can never sit right with people. They will never really accept you for who and how you are. “

Adele has been outspoken and has cared less about what people think and rightfully so after it has been pointed out that thinking too much never helps. “It is not my job to validate myself. It is not my jot to fit into all of these very unreal standards that do not care about people.”

Adele further added “I feel bad that it makes other people feel unkind to their bodies or if it makes people feel horrible about themselves, but there is nothing I can do about it. I am trying to sort my own life and there is still so much more to do. I cannot add one more worry to the already big pile of things.”
